Lazy Sunday Morning

First, Skye was too sleepy to get up. I guess it could be due to the fact that we
took our evening walk around 10:30 last night because we had such a busy day.

He was able to make his way to the office...

but still couldn't keep himself from yawning.

We made our way outside for a little romp in the yard. He gave the "warning" look to a few squirrels, daring them to come into his domain, better known as the backyard. Once his patrol was over, he was ready to go back inside to the a/c.

He then played "Bang, Bang!" with his daddy.
And it was sleepy time again. If only mommy would stop taking pictures of him... sheesh!

Ch, Ch, Ch, Ch, Changes...

Friday, I arrived home from work to hear Matt say, "Let's pick paint colors!". Those words were music to my ears. Our most recent endeavor... painting the exterior of the house. That's right! After many colors, we have chosen our favorites for the siding, trim, and shutters!

Stone Gray by Olympic for the siding.

Milk Paint by Olympic for the trim.
Black Magic by Olympic for the shutters. (more black in person than in photo)

We will also be replacing the lighting. We now have rusted, 80's brass fixtures and they have to come down for the painting so why not put pretty new ones up in their place.

Blonde Joke of the Week

A blonde woman was having financial troubles so she decided to kidnap a child and demand a ransom. She went to a local park, grabbed a little boy, took him behind a tree and wrote this note. "I have kidnapped your child. I am sorry to do this but I need the money. Leave $10,000 in a plain brown bag behind the big oak tree in the park at 7 AM." Signed, "The Blonde". She pinned the note inside the little boy's jacket and told him to go straight home. The next morning, she returned to the park to find the $10,000 in a brown bag behind the big oak tree, just as she had instructed. Inside the bag was the following note. "Here is your money. I cannot believe that one blonde would do this to another."

next... good-bye yellow linoleum flooring ;-)

PROJECT :: dresser

Matt worked tirelessly refininshing this cherry dresser to match our cherry master bed. It was his mother's dresser originally and we refinished it and gave it a new life. The mirror is a story for another day!

Sunset After the Rain

Matt made fun of me for holding up Skye's walk to take this photo, but I just couldn't help myself. We walked off the side porch and I looked up and saw the sun coming through the trees. I immediately said, "I have to grab the camera!". After much whining from both Matt and Skye, I took the photo and then we were off for our walk. I just couldn't pass this one up :-)
