wild randomness

Ha, thought that title would get your attention. Sorry, no wild partying here - I left that back in college!  I was referring to the random little wildflowers that pop up around our yard. The reason I call them wild flowers is that they come up in the middle of the yard, not in areas that any previous owners would have strategically planted them. I knew I had to get out and photograph them before Matt got the mower out and mowed them out of his way. In case you are wondering why you don't see Mason in these photos - the monster tried to eat them while I was photographing (not cool little man)!

Does anyone happen to know what these flowers are called?

Look up wood hyacinth and blue bells - there are different varieties. You should dig them up and plant them in one spot in partial shade - where they can multiply and spread. They can't do that if they have to compete with the grass and lawnmower.
