the white stuff

We got 7.5 inches of snow. It was light, powdery snow - not good for packing or making snowballs. Just fluffy turned slushy snow!




















The boys enjoyed it immensely! I could take it or leave it. I am kind of over it this Winter. On the upside - it came through on the weekend and will not affect our work schedules at all. We already have a short week because of our trip to Jamaica, and I hate to get behind at work when I can help it!

Did anyone else get snow? If so, do you love it or hate it?

wake up call

These boys are my wake up call on the weekend, if the sun doesn't get me first. Typically, the sun wakes them up and they wake me up. I have to say that it is a million times better to wake up to them than it is to wake up when it is still dark to a nagging alarm clock. I only have to deal with that 5 times per week (that's every day if you are counting). Ugh!

But today was a good day, because I got to wake up to these faces!

we are staying warm and cozy inside! The boys played out there all morning and are now thawing out and napping side-by-side.






At least we have this to look forward to for this time next weekend!

winter vs. summer

With snow in the forecast for this weekend, I am really missing these days...



warm sunshine, green grass, dogs frolicking in the yard with a stick, flip flops...

I do loathe Winter!

So tell me.. does anyone out there prefer Winter over Summer?

Warm + Cozy

We aren't using our fireplace this year because it became so much work that we didn't have time to even enjoy it. We both miss the ambiance of the flames, so we decided to light all of the candles while we watched movies!







We are both looking forward to replacing the older fire place insert with a nice sleek gas log insert. Stay tuned for more!

This is what gets me up on the weekends...






2 eager dogs ready to get outside to play! We were all so excited to have nicer weather on Saturday so we could spend some time outside.

Confession time - we just took our outdoor Christmas lights down yesterday. Yikes, I know! It has just been too cold every weekend since the holidays to get out there and do it. It was in the 70's when we put them up. We didn't light them after New Years Eve. I am sure our neighbors thought we were going to leave them up until next season. Oh well, they are down now and there is no sign of Christmas anymore!
