the cat: not sure! (maybe my mom can chime in here) I am assuming it was ours, but it could have belonged to a neighbor.
side note: My dad was always the family photographer. He is now the managing editor of a newspaper and doesn't pick up a camera very often, but for years did his own photography as a reporter. I remember the dark room he used to process the photos and watching his steps of cutting them, running them through a glue machine, and placing them right on the layout page. Things have come a long way from that to now using the most powerful Macintosh computers around.
