I wash all dishes completely with water and dish soap before putting them in the dishwasher. In my defense, I use the shortest cycle on the dishwasher with hot water and soap, just enough to sanitize them. I just hate to find a dish or glass with food dried on, and I don't like the marks left with air drying.

haha, my husband WISHES i did!! he always comes behind me a takes stuff back out of the dishwasher as i'm loading it to re-rinse.
