Blonde Joke Du Jour

A painting contractor was speaking with a woman about her job. In the first room she said she would like a pale blue. The contractor wrote this down and went to the window, opened it, and yelled out "GREEN SIDE UP!" In the second room she told the painter she would like it painted in a soft yellow. He wrote this on his pad, walked to the window, opened it, and yelled "GREEN SIDE UP!" The lady was somewhat curious but she said nothing. In the third room she said she would like it painted a warm rose color. The painter wrote this down, walked to the window, opened it and yelled "GREEN SIDE UP!"

The lady then asked him, "Why do you keep yelling 'green side up'?" "I'm sorry," came the reply. "But I have a crew of blonde's laying sod across the street.

Blonde Joke Du Jour

Two blondes were driving along a road by a wheat field when they saw a blonde in the middle of the field rowing a row boat.

The driver blonde turned to her friend and said "You know - it's blondes like that that give us a bad name!"To this the other blonde replied "I know it, and if I knew how to swim I'd go out there and drown her."

Strawberry Pancakes

1-1/2 cups flour
3 tablespoons sugar
1-1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1-1/2 cups milk
2 large eggs
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Mix together all dry ingredients. In a separate bowl, mix together all wet ingredients. Pour wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until smooth. Heat griddle over medium heat. Scoop batter with a 1/3 cup measuring cup and pour onto griddle. Cook each pancake until it is browned on each side. Serve with your choice of fruit and syrup.

Plans

The new sofa will sit in the same location as the old sofa, and the loveseat will take the place of the recliner. I'm not sure if we will do the loveseat at an angle or up against the wall. We may also try putting the coffee table back in the middle just to see the scale. I also have to work on changing out the black accessories or refinishing them because we are bringing in the dark brown sofas. I am thinking the shelves on the wall would be pretty a cream color like the candle sticks and the charger and will be a nice contrast against the dark wall. I will probably also change the color of the frames on the shelf. I will be on the lookout for throw pillows in a cream color, maybe linen. That way the room will be neutral to allow me to change out the accent colors for the seasons.

Red Hots

Valentines gift from my mother-in-law. It smells just like red hots candy, yummy!

Happy V Day to me!

My loving husband finally gave me full reign on choosing furniture for our family room. We will be replacing our tan leather sofa and brown leather oversized recliner with these lovely clean-line brown leather pieces. Today, we placed an order for the sofa and loveseat in the set seen above, close-up of the sofa also shown. Now we have to wait until delivery on the 28th. In the meantime, we will be making arrangements for the other furniture. I am so excited!!!

Happy Valentines Day!

Tonight, instead of heading out like most other couples for dinner, we are changing it up this year and staying in. On the menu...
