signs of summer
My drinks of past years are now replaced by refreshing, but alcohol free, drink varieties.
This poor bee drowned in my lemonade. I left my lemonade sitting on the deck and when I came back to get it, the bee was kicking his legs fighting for life. I was afraid to pour it out for fear that, if he could fly, he would sting me. Poor, poor bee - bless his heart!
The summer sunset from my porch swing - love this time of year, and really love my porch swing!
I attempted this cheese danish recipe from Life in Grace. It is super easy, and tastes amazing. Everyone should try this! I used fresh strawberries instead of the strawberry preserves. You could put any number of things to top this and it would still be wonderful!
What are your signs of summer?
week 15, day 6
- I have gained 6 lbs total. I am still able to wear all of my regular clothes, though some are starting to get a little snug. The bella band will find it's way home with me soon!
- I am getting really good sleep, but don't always feel like I need to sleep like I did throughout the first trimester. I am lucky that I have never slept on my back or stomach, so I will have few issues adjusting to sleeping positions.
- No strange cravings yet.
- I heard the heartbeat of 160 bpm on June 16th. It was a very cool experience! Everyone is betting on a girl. I am not convinced just yet!
- My big ultrasound is scheduled for July 20th to determine what our little one will be. We really can't wait!

these lovely little hair clouds are all over our house and yard right now... everywhere you look.. it is driving me crazy... the swiffer does no good... it is shedding season for skye-boy and this is his undercoat coming out... i am thanking god that mason is a light shedding dog... by the end of this skye will look like a whole new dog.. but in the meantime i will be pulling my hair out watching his hair fall out.. wish me luck

For the record, this is my 400th post. That is crazy! I really made me think about what I could have possibly posted about to create that much litter on the blogosphere. If you are curious, take a peek back through "the past" using the links on my sidebar (excuse the formatting of older posts as things have changed over the years, for the best). Here's to what the future brings through my continued blogging. As always, stay tuned!

I have been a little lax on posting and I apologize for that. While I haven't been posting, I have been making lists and generating ideas. I started a running list of my favorite things and figured I would share them in case anyone out there is remotely interested. Here are a few of my recent favorite things!
Cheerwine + Sun Drop
Yummy soda's that up until recently, I couldn't even find here in Virginia and had to get when we went down to North Carolina. Now you can get Cheerwine at select locations. They pretty much speak for themselves, but they are so good. I can't have Cheerwine right now, but I savored the Sun Drop. If you ever see this, pick one up!
Banana Cheesecake
We recently went to our favorite lake restaurant, Clearwater Grill. It is a longer drive than most restaurants, but it is a scenic drive through the country and the food is worth the extra drive. I really like their spinach and artichoke dip, but their cheesecakes are to die for. The banana cheesecake drizzled with caramel is sooo smooth and delicious. I could eat a slice every day!
Teva Flip Flops
I'm not a big fan of all Teva's, but I love these flip flops. They are super comfortable and cute. I have had the pair in the top photo for about a year, and recently picked the blue ones out on our beach vacation. Love these things!
Fried Spinach at Firebird's Grill
This dish is amazing. It sounds weird, and honestly, I thought the same myself before it came out with my equally amazing salmon. It is not greasy or soggy, but crisp and full of flavor. You can still taste the nutrients in it. Very tasty!
and, I'm on a food roll here...
Strawberry Custard from Rita's
Smooth, creamy, great strawberry flavor. Nothing beats this custard. Matt loves their wild cherry italian ice. It is perfection!
And since I have said goodbye to alcohol due to my "condition", this is my new stand in. It is fruity, bubbly, and refreshing - my perfect drink for summer!
So tell me, what are some of your recent favorites?

I attempted to put words to this post, but nothing I put into words did our vacation justice, so you get photos. I get depressed when vacations are over and struggle to write about them. Does anyone else experience this? I posted a mini travel guide below. If you have any questions about our trip, feel free to ask!
