over the river
and through the woods...
Last Sunday was a beautiful day for a drive to Charlottesville for a friends wedding. This is my favorite time of year for a little day trip. The leaves haven't changed much because it really hasn't gotten cold yet, but the sky is that beautiful blue that comes around this time of year.
The wedding was held at a pretty mountain lodge overlooking a small lake nestled in the mountains. We enjoyed a huge fire burning in the lodge's fireplace and chilled apple cider. It was a very sweet wedding ceremony for a super sweet couple! The photos below were of the surrounding mountains just before you enter the woods to get to the lodge.
what I'm wearing - pregnancy edition
These photos are a sampling of my maternity clothes for Fall into Winter. Most of the tops I wore with my four pairs of maternity capris (khaki, black, brown, navy) or my jean shorts over the Summer. All clothing is from Motherhood Maternity, shoes are various styles from Nine West to Crocs.
and finally, keeping it real around the house with my dress and crocs
I am linking up to The Pleated Poppy's What I Wore Wednesday series for the first time - check it out!

darn
We had every intention of going to this game. Matt (the UVA fan) and I (the UNC fan) were going to watch the game side by side. We were so going to be there, but decided to stay home and relax since we were already driving to Charlottesville for a wedding on Sunday and didn't want to leave the boys for so much time. Now I am kicking myself for not going. Darn, Darn, Darn!! We could have watched history with our own eyes. UNC has not defeated UVA at Scott Stadium since 1981, the year Matt was born. Matt probably wouldn't have made it past halftime, but it would have been so awesome to watch in person.
I am penciling this game on our schedule for 2 years from now, and hopefully, the Tar heels will have a repeat showing.

obx trip - part III
After lunch at The Beach Bread Company, we went shopping and stopped in at Nags Head Hammocks. We love trying out the hammocks, swings, and rockers. All of their pieces are so relaxing, my mother in law was almost convinced to purchase one for her patio at home. Maybe next season!
It was nearly impossible for me to get out of this thing with my big belly. My center of gravity is way off balance, but I managed!
See how relaxing it is!
We headed back to the hotel and hit the beach again for a walk down to the pier. It is still under construction, but hopefully it will be open next season.
After our walk, we freshened up and headed out for dinner at our favorite restaurant, Tale of the Whale. The following photos are our view of the sunset.
After dinner, we headed back to the hotel to relax and enjoy the balcony and listening to the waves crashing before falling asleep.
We woke up Sunday and headed back home. Of course on our way, we stopped at the Grandy Greenhouse and Farm Market and picked up some awesome pumpkins, peaches, hoop cheese, and believe it or not, german chocolate cake.
