warmth

Hopefully this Wednesday brought warmer weather to everyone. I know the 70 degree temps today are a major improvement to our "hibernation" weekend. We are looking forward to 80+ degrees this weekend for our possible cherry blossom trip into DC - note, I said possible! Our only concern is that it will eat up so much of our day since we don't live in the city. Stay tuned!

If anyone gets tired of looking at pretty flowers, just let me know or skip over my posts. I just can't get enough of them and feel myself drawn to them with the lens of my camera. I love Spring!

hibernation

Well hello 37 degree morning! There was an air of hesitance in our house to go outside this morning. The boys went potty and were right back at the door to hibernate a little longer.  And hibernate we did...

wild randomness

Ha, thought that title would get your attention. Sorry, no wild partying here - I left that back in college!  I was referring to the random little wildflowers that pop up around our yard. The reason I call them wild flowers is that they come up in the middle of the yard, not in areas that any previous owners would have strategically planted them. I knew I had to get out and photograph them before Matt got the mower out and mowed them out of his way. In case you are wondering why you don't see Mason in these photos - the monster tried to eat them while I was photographing (not cool little man)!

Does anyone happen to know what these flowers are called?

The dogs love being outside, but get antsy when they see me and want to come in!

This photo is proof that I need to get out and get a little sun - so I did!

... and found these little beauties popping up!

It was a windows wide open kind of day - one of my favorite kind of days!

The boys got in a little trouble barking at the dog next door and not listening, so they had to go inside for time out! They just love each other so much - ha!

We ended the evening grilling out. On the menu:

red creamer potatoes (in aluminum foil)
rosemary and balsamic marinated chicken breasts
roasted tomato salad

Hope everyone else enjoyed their first weekend of Spring!

Today, we are enjoying the coming of Spring! I loooooooooooooooooove this season and the warm weather it has brought to Northern Virginia. Today is going to be around 76, no humidity, no mosquitoes - just sunshine and warmth. I love it! The boys are already outside playing it up and burning off their energy. I will be doing some spring cleaning while the outside air is freshening up the house. We are welcoming Spring with open arms!

good evening

We are loving this daylight savings thing around here! I actually got to come home, change into my shorts and short sleeves, and go outside to take photos of the boys with the sun still shining on our backyard. They had so much fun running and playing fetch. And the best part about this time of year - no mosquitoes biting me yet!

The office in it's current state can be found here.

Here is the inspiration board for my office.  These are just ideas, not exactly what I would chose or purchase, but gives you the feel of what I am going for.  Because my office is officially our "formal living room"  as well, I want to to be formal, but also fun and different than the rest of the house.  I want it to make a statement.  It is the one room I can put "my" touch because I am the only one that ever goes in there!  Doing the design board was easy.  Now finding the time, money, and resources to make it happen will take forever.  A girl can dream right!

Stay tuned for design boards for other rooms!
